This year should be a big one for Manchester pop band THE BRIGHT BLACK and Manc Made are quite happy to bask in their success, and unless they get an urgent requirement for someone who can play the spoons (bit rusty, me that is, not the spoons) then it looks like basking will have to be enough.
Since launching their debut single in November last year the funk and soul inspired four piece have quickly gained a cult following. Their growing hometown reputation for putting on high energy, upbeat and soulful performances has meant that they will be playing gigs in Leeds, Sheffield and Liverpool in the coming months.
The Isley Brothers and Al Green, big musical influences for the band, would surely get a kick out of the way The Bright Black have infused their own music with that of these legends, while still maintaining a high-energy sound that is symptomatic of the bands Mancunian roots.
On Saturday the 16th April, at the AATMA in Manchester, the boys are coming home for the launch of their brand new single “Skin on Skin”.
You can book your tickets through the band, or pay on the door. Doors open at 7pm. It promises to be a great night for The Bright Black. Support will be from from Venus DeMilo and another Manc Made favourite Tamsyn.
Get the funk down there Manchester and support The Bright Black on their big night. The future for these lads has never looked brighter.
Good Luck and remember, no red M&M’s on that rider.
