This is the 3rd year that our friends Ged and Brogan have put on an Art Festival at the Nexus Arts Cafe, where all the artwork is created by homeless individuals from in and around Manchester.
All the Artwork on display will be available to purchase (there will also be a silent auction) with 100% of the funds raised returned to the homeless individuals via provisions and essentials (NO CASH).
After meeting Ged and Brogan I can honestly say that I was blown away by their passion for changing peoples perspectives on those people that are homeless on the streets we all walk in Manchester. They don’t judge, they just spend many, many hours doing all they can to help.
On the opening night of the festival (Tuesday 3rd October) there will be Music, Poetry, Theatre, Film and Open-Mic slots. Anyone and everyone is invited to attend. I do know that Ged is looking for any Comedians or Singers who want to show Manchester what they can do and at the same time help out a fantastic charity, so don’t be shy.
You can contact Ged on Twitter. His handle is @jediaustin9.
Below is a film that both Ged and Brogan were involved in which details some of the work they do out on the streets of Manchester. It’s a pretty powerful piece of work.
